Melissa P. Whitman, is a REALTOR® who combines her love for real estate with her passion for architecture and education. Before getting into the real estate business in 2007, she managed a high-end residential architecture firm in Atlanta that afforded her the unique perspective and confidence when placing clients with the perfect properties.  She is an active agent with Josey, Young & Brady Realty, LLC representing buyers and sellers on a day-to-day basis, and considers education – both clients and other real estate agents – an important part of her role as a REALTOR®. When orchestrating deals for her buyers and sellers, she is assertive and effective without being too aggressive. While a strong negotiator and advocate for her clients, she is just as much a compassionate, friendly, humorous partner who eases a process that she knows can often be quite stressful.

Melissa was the event coordinator for Newnan’s “First Realtors Showcase of Historic Homes” in June 2007. She has lived in several countries in the last 20 years,  then settled her family in her hometown of Newnan in 2005. Once an avid pool player on 8 and 9-ball APA teams she is now a triathlete and recent member of Team USA and will be representing the USA in Penticton Canada this summer.

She received a BA in Psychology and a Minor in French and Art History from The University of the South “Sewanee.” Currently, she is working on her RN/BSN in nursing at the University of West Georgia. She is the mother of two wonderful children Lilly 14, and Julian 11.

Her keen sense of adventure and her extensive travels have given her the ability to communicate easily with her clients. She is enthusiastic when representing her clients, be they buyers or sellers of the residential markets, farms or raw land, in this “City of Homes” and its surrounding Southern Crescent counties that she has chosen to make her own.
